Online counselling

For years we have provided online counselling to clients around the world from our therapy rooms in central London.

While face-to-face counselling is always available in our London therapy rooms, online therapy is also an option using platforms like Zoom.

Why choose online counselling?

Some of our clients choose to have all their sessions online while others meet their therapist face-to-face. Some of our clients prefer a hybrid type of therapy where some sessions are held face-to-face and some sessions are held online.

Our online-only clients include people who:

  • live overseas and want an English-speaking therapist
  • are disabled or housebound
  • work from home and don’t want to travel for their sessions
  • feel anxious about attending therapy in person

If you are considering online counselling, you will need to have a private space where you will not be interrupted or overheard. We also offer telephone counselling, which some clients feel more comfortable with.

Wherever and however you choose to have your sessions, you will have peace of mind choosing a compassionate, qualified therapist from our team. All our therapists are experienced in working online.

We’ll help you feel better from the very first appointment

How do online counselling appointments work?

For online therapy you will need a quiet, private space to meet with your therapist and a reliable internet connection. In advance of your session, your therapist will send you a link to access the session on a platform such as Zoom.

Online counselling works for both individual therapy and couples counselling. Your online counselling sessions will be held weekly, just like face-to-face sessions.

Can couples counselling be held online?

Yes. Both partners in a couple can sit together online in one location or each partner can attend online appointments from a different location.

Online sessions can be particularly helpful in couples therapy, where childcare issues or business travel can frequently make it hard for one or other partner to attend the session in person. If one partner needs to be online, the other partner should also be online for that session.

Good couples therapists can also be hard to find. Online couples counselling with One Therapy London is a great option for any couples who are struggling to find a good therapist locally.

What issues can be addressed online?

Almost any issue can be addressed in online therapy. Our online counselling service helps clients with stress and anxiety problemsdepressionrelationship issues, career and work-related problems, bereavement, difficult transitions, loneliness, poor self-confidence, family issues, sexuality issues and many others.

Our counsellors provide short- and longer-term online counselling in English, Italian, Spanish, Greek and other languages to clients in the UK and around the world.

What do I talk about in counselling?

One of the most common worries I hear expressed by people starting counselling is that they won’t know what to talk about. Some people think their problems aren’t significant enough. Others fear they have too much to say, that they might overwhelm the therapist…
