We're here when you need us

Most of our clients attend weekly counselling sessions and this is the best way to get the most out of your therapy experience. But not everyone wants weekly therapy. Sometimes, a one off session with a highly-trained therapist is enough.

A Single Session Talk provides a one-off opportunity to discuss whatever’s on your mind, confidentially, with a therapist. You can see a therapist just once, or continue ad hoc as needed. You can stick with the same counsellor, or change.

Is a Single Session Talk the same as therapy?

No. Being in therapy requires regular, consistent meetings with a therapist. Therapy is a carefully structured process that allows clients to build a relationship with their therapist over time. Single Session Talks do not have the consistency or momentum of weekly counselling and psychotherapy appointments.

Ongoing weekly therapy requires a commitment. Single Session Talks with a therapist can be single, one-off appointments or ad hoc appointments when you need them. In a Single Session Talk, a therapist might give you advice or signpost you towards other sources of help.

A Single Session Talk may not be best in all cases. Certain issues like chronic depression, addiction, self-harming behaviour or eating disorders will require longer-term support.

A Single Session Talk is a one off, 50 minute appointment with a qualified therapist to discuss whatever’s on your mind, confidentially. You can come just once, or book ad hoc sessions whenever you need them. You can stay with the same therapist or change. It’s a way to talk to a professional without committing to regular therapy.

For many people, yes. A single session gives you a confidential space to talk something through, process a recent event, or get something off your chest with a qualified therapist. Clients consistently tell us they find these one off talks helpful. It won’t replace ongoing therapy, but for an immediate space to talk, it can make a real difference.

No. Therapy is a structured process built on regular, consistent sessions, where you build a relationship with your therapist over time. A Single Session Talk doesn’t have that ongoing momentum. It’s a one off or occasional conversation, useful in its own right, but different from the deeper work of weekly counselling or psychotherapy.

It’s quick and easy to book an appointment through our online booking system. Booking an appointment takes about five minutes, and you’ll receive an email confirmation straight away.

If you prefer, you can also book by phone on 0333 207 9330 or email at info@onetherapy.london

Yes. Everything you discuss in therapy is confidential. There are certain legal exceptions to this, which we will explain when you take up therapy with us. We create a space where you can discuss anything on your mind in a private, confidential setting without being judged.

A one off talk may not be enough for everything. Longer standing or more complex issues, such as chronic depression, addiction, self harm or eating disorders, usually need ongoing, longer term support. If that sounds like what you’re facing, your therapist can talk to you about short term or individual therapy instead.

A Single Session Talk is a single, standalone appointment, ideal for a one off chat or occasional support. Short term therapy is a structured block of around 10 weekly sessions with an agreed focus. If you find one session leaves you wanting more, you can easily move on to short term or ongoing therapy.

Absolutely. A Single Session Talk doesn’t have to be a one time thing, you can book ad hoc sessions whenever you need them, with the same therapist or a different one. And if you decide you’d like more consistent support, just talk to us about short term counselling or individual therapy and we’ll help.

A one off Single Session Talk is £125. There’s no ongoing commitment and nothing to sign up to, you simply book a session when you need one. If you later decide you’d like weekly therapy, we can arrange that too, and you’ll find each therapist’s fees for weekly therapy on their profile.
