One Therapy London counselling since 2006

We try to be clear and supportive from your first appointment. We know that starting counselling can be confusing. Our therapists will help to make things easier.

A good therapist is someone you can talk to about anything. It is through this unique relationship with your therapist that you will begin to understand and resolve whatever is concerning you.

One Therapy began in 2006

We began seeing clients at our first practice next door to the BBC in Langham Street in 2006. Today, we are still based in Oxford Circus and also have locations in Bloomsbury, Kensington and Brighton.

We choose our therapists carefully

Because the relationship between you and your therapist is so important, we select only the most approachable, professional and effective therapists to work with us. Our therapists are not distant, cold or silent. They achieve the results you want by working with you using a collaborative, personalised approach. Your relationship with your therapist will be unlike anyone else’s relationship with their therapist.

We are enthusiastic about your therapy

We take our work very seriously and our focus is on providing the highest quality therapy possible. Successful therapy is based on the confidential, non-judgemental relationship that develops between you and your therapist. And you should be serious about your therapy, too! To make progress in therapy, clients should be committed to attending their appointments.

Providing a safe space

Discussions in counselling are confidential. We do not discriminate on any grounds and your therapist will not judge your behaviour, your personal choices or past experiences. In therapy, you may discuss anything that is on your mind.

The easiest way to book an appointment

You can always call us or email but the easiest way to book your first appointment is by using our automated booking system here. It takes about 5 minutes to book your first appointment with us.

Online or in-person counselling - which is better?

Therapy is not like any other appointment you will have.

Most of our clients choose in-person counselling and meet with their counsellor or psychotherapist at one of our London offices. Some clients prefer online appointments if getting to our offices is difficult.

Which is best? Most people agree that face-to-face therapy is the most effective type of counselling, though online therapy can be a good alternative. Hybrid therapy combines in-person and virtual sessions together, and this is becoming a popular and convenient way for many people to have therapy. Many of our clients choose this approach.

A first meeting with us can be arranged here.

Therapy with an experienced therapist works!

Counselling can be used to address any concern and our therapists have experience helping with most personal issues.

Appointments are usually held weekly. Wherever possible, we try to find an appointment time that is convenient for you. Appointments are available Monday to Friday from 7.30 am until 8.30 pm and on Saturdays and Sundays between 9.00 am and 7.00 pm.

Our clients may end therapy at any time simply by letting us know.

Our clients have reported great results!

Mr K
“I was attending sessions at One Therapy practice for about 1 1/2 years. I am very happy with the result, sessions there really helped me. I am really grateful to my therapist. Someone recommended him to me as a high professional and it proved right, thank you.”
Mrs M
“I can only provide positive comments on my sessions with (my therapist). This was my first experience with a therapist, and she managed to make me feel comfortable. And I must say that the sessions were helpful and efficient.”
Mrs E
“My therapist was extremely helpful, considerate and understanding. I felt she properly understood what the issues I had were, and their underlying causes, and I feel I benefited considerably from the sessions with her.”
Mrs N
“I immediately felt completely at ease as they were very professional while showing genuine care and interest in helping me. I was able to confront many issues which I had so far chosen to ignore despite their negative effects on my personal relationships and happiness. I would have no hesitation in recommending (One Therapy) to anyone looking to improve their relationships and self-esteem.”
Mrs L
“I learned a lot about myself and about the relationships I make with other people. I was able to see where I was going wrong and I now make better personal choices. Thank you, again.”
Mrs R
“I can’t thank you enough for the help and support I got from my appointments. I would highly recommend therapy to anyone now. Therapy helped me in more ways than I could have imagined. Please tell (my therapist) how grateful I am for her help.”

How does therapy help?

Over the years that I’ve worked as a therapist, I’ve been asked numerous times by prospective clients, “How does counselling help?”  And I’ve yet to come up with a satisfactory answer. Not because I’m in any doubt that it helps, but because the ‘how’ bit is so hard to articulate concisely…
