One Therapy London since 2006

It can feel confusing when setting out to begin counselling. Our experienced counsellors and psychotherapists in London will work with you in therapy together.

Your therapist is someone with whom you can talk about anything regarding your past, your present or your future and it’s through this trusting relationship that you and your therapist will make sense of whatever might be concerning you.

One Therapy began in 2006, almost 20 years ago

We began seeing clients at our first practice next door to the BBC in Langham Street, near Oxford Circus, in 2006. Our aim was to make therapy more accessible and affordable in central London. To do this, we have always used a sliding fee scale so that more people can access professional psychotherapy.

Today, we are still in Oxford Circus and we have rooms in Soho, Fitzrovia, Bloomsbury and Kensington.

We choose our therapists carefully

Because the relationship between a client and their therapist is important, we have always searched for warm, professional and highly-skilled therapists to join our team. Our therapists are hand-picked to meet the high standards we set for the counselling services we provide. We want our clients to go away feeling they are in good hands.

Therapy is open-ended and client-centred. This means clients can meet with their therapist for as long as they want and discussions in therapy are driven by the client. We feel the type of therapy a person has is less important than the quality of the relationship that happens between the client and their therapist.

Our therapists are not silent. We have a more contemporary way of providing counselling and psychotherapy. We collaborate and work together with each client to achieve results.

Your therapist will be involved in your therapy every step of the way.

The structure of therapy is important and requires real commitment

Our work is based on the confidential, non-judgemental relationship that takes shape between each client and therapist. Therapy also involves a very boundaried and structured agreement. Clients should be committed to  The frequency and consistency of your sessions is also important.

Each client is different and a kind of therapy that works for one person may not work as well for someone else. We tailor our approach to each person’s specific needs.

Both face-to-face and online counselling are available.

If our therapists in Oxford Circus, Soho, Bloomsbury or Kensington can help, get in touch

Counselling can be used to address any concern and our therapists have experience helping with most personal issues. Discussions in therapy are always confidential.

Appointments are usually held weekly. Wherever possible, we try to find an appointment time that is convenient for our clients. Appointments are available Monday to Friday from 7.30 am until 8.30 pm and on Saturdays and Sundays between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm.

Our clients may end therapy at any time simply by letting us know.

Whether online or face-to-face, therapy is a private and very personal experience

Discussions in counselling are confidential. We operate a policy of non-discrimination — we do not discriminate on any grounds. Your therapist will not judge your behaviour, personal choices or past experiences. In therapy, you may discuss anything that’s on your mind.

Counselling is a unique personal experience that evolves from the relationship between you and your counsellor. Everyone experiences therapy differently. A first meeting with your counsellor or an online session with us can be arranged here. You may also want to read our client testimonials.

How does therapy help?

Over the years that I’ve worked as a therapist, I’ve been asked numerous times by prospective clients, “How does counselling help?”  And I’ve yet to come up with a satisfactory answer. Not because I’m in any doubt that it helps, but because the ‘how’ bit is so hard to articulate concisely…

What to expect in counselling
