Starting therapy can feel daunting, but Lara’s warm demeanour helps her clients feel more comfortable.
Lara is an integrative therapist who offers short and longer-term therapy to individuals. She creates a confidential and non-judgemental environment, which enables her clients to open up about their thoughts, feelings and experiences. With empathy and curiosity, her clients feel supported, understood and able to work through things at a pace that feels right for them.
Lara’s style of therapy draws upon different approaches, primarily person-centred and psychodynamic psychotherapy, which can be adapted to suit each client. Exploring past experiences can be effective, as it helps clients to recognise how their childhood has impacted their current life and relationships. Lara has worked with clients from a wide range of backgrounds on issues such as anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, relationship difficulties, childhood trauma and abuse, low self-esteem, work stress and cultural issues.
Life can feel challenging and overwhelming. Lara believes that by providing a trusting and collaborative space, real change through counselling is possible. Lara’s clients feel heard, are more able to make sense of things and gain deeper understanding of themselves.
