Henry is an integrative therapist who helps clients better understand themselves. Therapy with him involves looking at the connections between a client’s present emotions, behaviour patterns and past experiences. He helps clients identify why they respond in the ways they do and why the protective behaviours they learnt in the past are no longer helpful. Developing this self-awareness allows clients to make conscious choices that feel right for them.
With training and experience in gender, sex and relationship diversity, Henry also explores how broader social pressures (including expectations around identity, gender, sexuality and success) affect a client’s sense of self and may lead to feelings of shame or self-doubt.
Henry builds a trusting relationship with his clients, where they can safely express thoughts and emotions that feel vulnerable, exposing or shameful. With Henry’s support, clients learn to explore these thoughts and feelings with empathy, curiosity and honest reflection, bringing about shifts in how they relate to their past experiences and to themselves.
Henry works with a broad range of issues including anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationships, sexual identity, intimacy, grief, shame and depression.
